Wyoming Opens Two Border Sites for Gaming and Entertainment Development

On August 4, 2026, Wyoming authorities announced the opening of two land parcels along the Colorado and Utah borders for commercial development. The combined 419-acre territory is now available for proposals from gaming operators, hospitality companies, and entertainment developers.

Site Locations and Demographics

Gateway East covers 265 acres at the Wyoming–Colorado boundary and aligns with the Denver–Fort Collins corridor. The parcel provides access to over 3.6 million residents within a one-hour drive. Gateway West spans 154 acres along the Utah border, a state that maintains a long-standing ban on gaming. This location connects directly to Salt Lake City and Park City, reaching approximately 2.5 million residents within 90 minutes. Both parcels are positioned on Interstate 25 and Interstate 80, placing more than six million consumers within driving range.

Market Analysis and Proposal Criteria

Independent feasibility studies conducted by The Innovation Group, alongside market research from the Wyoming Gaming Commission, indicate demand for large-scale entertainment, lodging, and event facilities at both locations. The state is currently accepting proposals from a range of entities, including bulk buyers, tribal enterprises, hospitality groups, gaming companies, truck stop operators, RV resort developers, and entertainment organizations.
