Betsson reported that Latin America generated 36% of its €310.2 million revenue during the second quarter. CEO Pontus Lindwall confirmed the region is now the operator's largest market.
Regional Growth and Expansion Plans
Regional revenue reached €112 million, marking a 32% year-on-year increase. Lindwall attributed this growth to strong activity in sports and casino segments across Argentina, Peru, and Colombia. To support expansion, the company secured a €75 million credit facility intended to fund future acquisitions in new markets or technology sectors.Nordic Performance and Financial Results
Conversely, revenue in the Nordic region fell by 17% as the operator reduced marketing spend in Sweden and Denmark. Lindwall noted that tight regulations and competition with unlicensed operators make customer acquisition costly in Europe. While B2C active customers rose 31.9% to 1,825,487, total deposits across B2C and B2B segments dropped 7% to €1.38 billion. Gross profit decreased 8% year-on-year to €177.5 million, resulting in a margin of 57.2%. The decline was primarily driven by a slump in B2B revenue caused by lower activity from a major client. Despite this, regulated revenues for the group increased by 17% during the quarter. The second quarter financial results were supported by increased engagement during the first half of the World Cup tournament.
