Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana has contributed $45,000 to the Gary Literacy Coalition to support the Pilot Community Reading Program. The funding targets kindergarten through eighth-grade students who read below grade level and expands classroom literacy resources.

Program Scope and Resources

The initiative delivers small-group instruction alongside instructional materials and take-home literacy kits. Participants will receive access to approximately 1,200 books, with the coalition planning to enroll between 60 and 80 students. The casino noted that the program also includes structured family engagement activities to promote reading outside school hours.

Previous Community Investments

This allocation continues the operator’s recent community investment efforts in the region. During the previous year, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana transferred $500,000 to the Gary Community School Corporation. Those funds covered campus equipment purchases and facility upgrades, including renovations to gymnasiums, library spaces, stadium seating, and security systems.
