Grosvenor Casino Bolton in Greater Manchester has completed a £3m refurbishment and launched a new gaming terrace. The venue officially reopened to players in May 2026 following a week-long celebration event.
Facility Expansion and Regulatory Update
The updated floor now hosts 80 slot machines, marking the first expansion under a new UK regulation that took effect in July 2025. The legislation amended the Gaming Act 1968 and Gambling Act 2005, raising the previous limit of 40 machines. The gaming area also includes 16 live tables for roulette, blackjack and three card poker, 37 electronic roulette units, 10 sports betting terminals and a 180-seat card room. Poker tournaments run there seven nights each week.The property features a heated external gaming terrace equipped with integrated audio, slot machines and a widescreen television for live sports. The terrace is designed for year-round operation. The May 1 launch weekend included themed entertainment nights, tribute performances and a prize draw.
General manager Paul Baines stated, "The relaunch week was well received by all our customers... there was something for everyone."
The venue welcomed its first players in November 2024 as part of the initial G Casino concept rollout. The site previously underwent a renovation in 2007. The current design shifts focus toward player experience and casino heritage. The Manchester area contains approximately a dozen principal casino venues.
